A driving motive of the TransparantSea campaign is to enable a collective voice for surfers and fellow ocean lovers to speak to the larger community. The group chose one of the world’s busiest shipping ports, Los Angeles Harbor, as the backdrop for their latest message; congratulating the state of California for recent bans placed on shark-finning and creation of Marine Protection Areas, while simultaneously calling for Obama to act on behalf of the US Government to place pressure on other nations to end whaling.
“The American Government is making positive steps towards banning commercial whaling worldwide, this country is very powerful and has the ability to make this call and if America takes the lead in this direction then many other countries will follow and that’s a great opportunity,” explained Rasta.
This song "I do, what can I do ?" is about taking responsibility for our own actions. Every person on this planet is responsible for the planets health in the present & into the future. Every choice we make has a repercussion and our collective choices will dictate what kind of future are we leaving for the generations to come. We vote with every dollar and support many industries with the simple act of shopping for our daily needs. We all have the power to choose to support local, ethical and sustainable producers to send a clear message to the unethical and unsustainable industries through their profit margins.
'What can I do?' is also a key question that we all ask ourselves, especially when we connect to the enormity of the situation at hand. 'What difference can I make?' Moving into a sustainable future can be overwhelming at times, yet the small steps we make together make a massive difference to our collective futures. It's up to us. We all have the power to choose and it is those choices that really matter. We are all responsible for our contributions to a sound future.
" Every single person can think about what they can do in there own life " - Angela Iimura
lyrics
mmmmmm....
V1
Lifeblood through my body
Heart feeds my mind
Cycle flows on and on
Refined … Design
We the gathering
All comin' together
Powerful presence
Birds of a feather
CH
I do, ah ah I do
I do, what can I do ?
I do, it’s what I do (That really matters)
I do, do what I do
V2
Supply and demand
Air, sea and land
Wants and desires
So the fire is fanned
Less is more
Time to get vocal
Downtown market stall
Everything local
CH
I do, ah ah I do
I do, What can I do ?
I do, it’s what I do (That really matters)
I do, do what I do
BRIDGE
It is in our heart
Live it, breathe it
We all play a part
Live it, breath it
The way I do anything,
is the way I do everything.
Anything I do
Everything I do
Positive reinforcement
Praise the wisdom of ages
Enough is enough
Be honest and courageous in what…. (I do…)
CH x2
I do, ah ah I do
I do, What can I do ?
I do, it’s what I do (That really matters)
I do, do what I do
